Salisbury NHS Trust appoints Asset+ to Decarbonise Hospital estate
Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Asset Plus to work in partnership to deliver a £10M decarbonisation programme at Salisbury District Hospital utilising recently awarded funding from the government’s Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme. The work has been procured via the Carbon Energy Fund framework.
The programme will include replacing gas fired boilers with heat pumps, fabric measures to reduce heat loss, upgrading the lighting to LED and installing solar panels across the estate. Other measures include improvements to the heating distribution pipework and upgrades to the building’s energy management system.
Director of Estates and Facilities at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, Brian Johnson, said the funding will enable the hospital to “decarbonise our heating and hot water systems through the implementation of innovative, multi-stage, high-temperature heat pump systems”.
Commercial Director at Asset+, Chris Aldred said, ‘This appointment continues to highlight our position as the UK’s decarbonisation partner of choice. Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust have ambitious plans over the next decade and we are delighted to working in partnership with them to execute their objectives.’
