“Asset+ stood out through their focus on the Councils goals of carbon neutrality and their knowledge on how the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme could be utilised to accelerate our ambitions. We are looking forward to working in partnership with the Asset+ team over the coming years as we move towards Net Zero Carbon.”

Charles Pipe, Energy Manager London Borough of Hounslow

Asset+ are delighted to announce their appointment by the London Borough of Hounslow to design and deliver a comprehensive programme to decarbonise the Boroughs complete corporate estate.

Behind this programme is the Councils recent declaration of a climate emergency which commits to making the Council carbon neutral by 2030. It recognises that if the most is made of existing and emerging technologies, the challenges of climate change can be reframed to build a cleaner, greener Borough which reaps the economic rewards of a clean growth revolution, while eliminating health and social inequalities and the costs associated with them.

The Borough has an ambitious target to retrofit their entire corporate property portfolio, which is about 13% of the direct council emissions.

Recently the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) launched the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme which encourages green investment; supporting the Government’s Net Zero and clean growth goals. Following this announcement, London Borough of Hounslow sought a partner via the RE:FIT Framework to identify opportunities and propose technologies which in return will allow the Council to apply on the aforementioned scheme and consequently reach the targets set on the Climate Emergency Action Plan.

“Our business mission is to enable organisations, such as the London Borough of Hounslow to meet and exceed their climate commitments and ensure they are positioned to thrive in a Decarbonised, Decentralised and Digitalised future. We are absolutely delighted to have secured this key project and are already working hard to deliver on this partnership and exceed the commitments we have made to Hounslow, whilst continuing to reinforce our status as the UK’s leading independent energy performance specialist.”
