Asset+ appointed by Isle of Anglesey County Council in 8 Year Energy Performance ContractPosted 1 April 2019
Asset+ are delighted to announce their appointment by the Isle of Anglesey County Council in North Wales to deliver an 8 year energy performance contract.
The Council was keen to use the experience of Asset+ to produce optimal solutions for energy/water efficiency measures, renewable energy generation and carbon reduction activities deployed across diverse property portfolios.
Asset+ have already identified a wide range of energy and carbon saving measures, which will be funded by the Welsh Government Green Growth Fund through an interest-free loan. Asset+ will then implement the energy saving works across Council assets, guaranteeing the results over the 8 year period.
The Isle of Anglesey Council maintain a property portfolio of 5 secondary schools, 40 primary schools, 3 leisure centres, various libraries, council offices, industrial estates and over 100 smallholdings. Many of these buildings need substantial investment to improve energy efficiency.
The first phase of work which is currently underway is valued at £2.5million and covers 28 buildings ranging from leisure centres, schools, libraries, residential care homes and corporate building stock.
This project will contribute towards the Council’s financial sustainability, reducing the amount spent per annum on running costs whilst contributing towards environmental sustainability goals.
Paul Burnett, Managing Director of Asset+ said:
We are delighted to have been selected by the Isle of Anglesey County Council to reduce energy, carbon and ultimately money across their significant asset portfolio. We will be utilising our award winning partnership approach to significantly reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions via an extensive and eclectic mix of measures. These savings will be guaranteed over an 8 year period. This appointment alongside our existing appointments with Bangor University and also the Vale of Glamorgan extends our presence across Wales and underpins the Welsh Governments drive to decarbonise the Public Sector estate by 2030. This selection against stiff competition reinforces our status as the UK’s leading energy performance specialist.
